Who they are

Adolf Hitler, born 20 April 1889 in Braunau am Inn, Austria; a German Army soldier in the First World War; from 1921 the leader of the Nazi Party; from January 1933 the head of the German government; dead by his own hand in Berlin on 30 April 1945.

What they do

The documented spine of his path: an army captain's propaganda office put him into the German Workers' Party in 1919 — the same month he wrote his first antisemitic letter, calling for the 'removal of the Jews.' He took the small party over in 1921, tried to seize Bavaria by force in 1923, wrote Mein Kampf in prison, and was handed the chancellorship legally in January 1933. In 1934 he signed a one-sentence law declaring his own purge murders legal, and from that August held total power.

How it works

Each claim on this page carries its record: the 1919 letter survives (the signed original is at the Simon Wiesenthal Center); his 1932 citizenship scheme is documented (a Nazi state minister gave the stateless Austrian a token government job so he could run for president); the law he signed in July 1934 is quoted in full on its own page. His death is a records question too, answered the same way the site handled Martin Bormann: the teeth Moscow holds were identified by his own dental assistants in 1945 and examined by a French forensic team (study published 2018) — the famous 'female skull' was a different bone. The survival legends have their own pages, as legends.

Why it matters

You cannot track how a structure captured a state without a page for the person at its center. What stays open is marked honestly: who paid, who handed him the chancellorship, and how persecution became extermination are still being built from records, not retold from memory.

Party leader from July 1921 (anton_drexler moved to honorary president). The failed Beer Hall Putsch (November 1923) brought the Landsberg imprisonment and Mein Kampf (its second volume dedicated to his dead mentor dietrich_eckart). Stateless from 1925 after renouncing Austrian citizenship, he was made a German citizen on 25 February 1932 through a Regierungsrat appointment arranged by NSDAP Braunschweig minister Dietrich Klagges — a bureaucratic device to let him run for Reich President. Appointed chancellor of Germany on 30 January 1933 by President Hindenburg; the Enabling Act followed in March; on 3 July 1934 he signed the one-sentence law legalizing the purge killings retroactively (staatsnotwehr_law_1934); from August 1934 Führer, dictator of the one-party state whose 1935 race statutes canon holds at nuremberg_laws_1935. Suicide in Berlin, 30 April 1945. THE DEATH RECORD (same discipline as bormann_forensic_record): the remains passed into Soviet custody; the dental work was identified by his dentist's assistant Käthe Heusermann and technician Fritz Echtmann; Philippe Charlier's team examined the Moscow-held teeth (study published 2018); the 2009 Bellantoni DNA result (a skull fragment typed female) concerns a SEPARATE artifact, not the teeth. Survival stories are held at the myth layer — canon documents their carriers at serrano (Antarctic-redoubt doctrine) and savitri_devi (Hitler-as-avatar theology), studied as myth, never endorsed.
