ABRC is Asynchronous Ballistic Reversible Computing, a near-zero-heat processing approach using superconducting components, tied to Sandia patents.
What they do
It's promoted as computing that 'cheats' the Second Law of thermodynamics by processing without generating heat.
How it works
But per Bennett (1982), the final step of reading out and erasing leftover 'garbage' bits still has to pay the physical energy cost; so it only defers that cost, it doesn't escape it.
Why it matters
It matters as a clear example that you can postpone the thermodynamic price but not avoid it; on this point the physics is definite.
