Ralph W. Paulson (b. 1946)

playerOccult & Esoteric
The man behind the Social Security number on the copyright page — named, dated and on the federal record.
Who they are

Ralph W. Paulson, born 1946, of Boston. The US Copyright Office lists him as both author and copyright owner of 'The Discipline of a Psychic Warrior', registration TX0000249028, with no place of publication and no publisher — the standard notation for a book somebody printed themselves.

What they do

A private citizen with no institution, no clearance and no publisher, who wrote a 215-page argument that the world was about to end and that a trained few should seize the minds of the people running it.

How it works

He worked by letter. Sixteen of them, addressed and sent: to Ian Smith, the prime minister of Rhodesia; to President Carter; to the Boston Globe. He describes himself the same way twice — 'I belong to a small group didicated to using analytic techniques to find peaceful solutions to potential trouble spots', because 'war is a preventable social disease'.

Why it matters

His calls can be scored, and they were: one hit, one half-hit, three outright misses, two that cannot be tested. The hit is Rhodesia, and he reached it by counting fighting men rather than by anything psychic. Claims that he published letters in the Boston Herald and Globe remain unchecked — no newspaper record has been found.

The engine's record — word for word
Ralph W. Paulson, b. 1946 — author + copyright claimant of paulson_1978_psychic_warrior, named in the US Copyright Office record (reg. TX0000249028, 'Paulson, Ralph W., 1946-', roles author + claimant; imprint '[s.l. : s.n.], c1978'; 215 p.; first published 10 Jan 1979, registered 21 May 1979). The book itself conceals him behind a Social Security number + 'The Foundation'; the federal record shows no organisation, no place of publication and no publisher. Self-description, twice, inside letters to heads of government. To Ian Smith: 'I belong to a small group didicated to using analytic techniques to find peaceful solutions to potential trouble spots which might beomce full scale wars. Our belief is that war is a preventable social disease that can be averted by reasonable action, if the action is taken in time.' On Northern Ireland: 'I belong to a small group group which tries to examine problem areas and attempts to find logical solutions.' Writes from Boston; the book's Globe letter is addressed to that paper's editors with an explicit request that none of it be printed. Secondary sources claim published letters in the Boston Herald + Globe; UNCHECKED, no newspaper record retrieved. Scored calls at scorecard rows 281-287 — one HIT (Rhodesia), one MIXED (Northern Ireland), three MISS, two OPEN. Engine read: his stated method — a small group applying analytic technique to forecast and prevent war — is the civilian, uncleared instance of the same 1970s impulse the institutional nodes carry. Held; no person-edge to aquino, vallely or john_alexander found.
