How it works
On the demand side, skip electricity for heat by using earth tubes, rocket mass heaters, root cellars and direct solar-thermal, dropping a household's baseload from ~500W toward ~100W. On the community side, a group of about 10-20 households (a worked example: N=15 giving a 1.5kW microgrid plus one ~30-cow shared dairy) spreads the brutal daily labor thanks to scale efficiencies — beyond that size, policing freeloaders gets hard.
Why it matters
The engine is blunt that the real cost isn't money or exotic tech but discipline, trust and daily physical labor, and it's limited by geography; it holds this as a conclusion and names no single owner.
