Practical Sovereignty — Demand-Min + Community Scale

concept
The realistic way to live fully off-grid isn't a bigger generator — it's needing far less power and doing it with a small group of neighbors.
Who they are

A synthesized conclusion (from Reports #144-148 and #157) about how to make grid-independent living actually bearable.

What they do

The engine treats it as the honest answer to self-sufficiency: cut demand hard and share the load across a small community.

How it works

On the demand side, skip electricity for heat by using earth tubes, rocket mass heaters, root cellars and direct solar-thermal, dropping a household's baseload from ~500W toward ~100W. On the community side, a group of about 10-20 households (a worked example: N=15 giving a 1.5kW microgrid plus one ~30-cow shared dairy) spreads the brutal daily labor thanks to scale efficiencies — beyond that size, policing freeloaders gets hard.

Why it matters

The engine is blunt that the real cost isn't money or exotic tech but discipline, trust and daily physical labor, and it's limited by geography; it holds this as a conclusion and names no single owner.

The engine's record — word for word
[Reports #144-148] The move that turns brutal-L3 into LIVABLE sovereignty (#147). DEMAND SIDE: bypass electricity for thermal loads (earth tubes, rocket mass heaters, root cellars, direct solar-thermal, DC-native micro-grid) -> baseload 500W -> ~100W -> manure 500->100kg/day, collector ~39->9.6m2. COMMUNITY SCALE: the square-cube law + engine-efficiency-with-size collapse per-capita brutality; sweet spot N=10-20 (past that -> free-rider policing). BOUNDED VERDICT: most livable grid-independent sovereignty = demand-min (100W/HH) + community-scaled (N=10-20), ~55-66kg manure + 4-5m2/HH. HONEST RESIDUAL: not capital or exotic physics but discipline + trust + daily biological labor. Geography/labor-bound, not universal. [Report #157] (Report #157) Confirmed as the honest 4-person answer: abandon the 2-3kW target, demand-min each household toward ~100W (thermal-load bypass), community N=15 -> 1.5kW / 90 kWh NiFe microgrid + one ~30-cow communal dairy = indefinite half-life. The escape is demand-min + community, not brute-force generation. Held; name no holder.
