In 2019 he tweeted that Q — the anonymous poster behind QAnon — 'was started by two guys that are friends of mine'. Then he deleted it.
Jack Posobiec, a broadcaster and former correspondent for the TV channel One America News[1].
He connects three threads of the QAnon story: Q, the anonymous online poster behind QAnon, a far-right American conspiracy theory and political movement that began in 2017; Michael Flynn, a former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, with whom he has shared stages and shows; and the far-right activist Laura Loomer, with whom he has a long public history. He reported on Q's origins in 2018 and later said he knew the people who started it.
In 2018 he presented a One America News segment titled 'Creator of QAnon Speaks for the First Time', in which he interviewed a man the channel described as one of QAnon's former top members. In 2018 he and others also showed online chat records, from the chat app Discord, as proof of how Q began. According to a blog, burners.me, James Brower — one of the men who claimed to have started Q — later admitted those chat records were faked. In March 2019 Posobiec tweeted that Q was started by two friends of his, without naming them; the tweet now survives only in web archives.
His own words claim he knows who started Q, but he has never named them. Until he does, who they were is unknown.
[Report #198] THE 2019 TWEET (deleted from X; preserved by the Wayback Machine,
web.archive.org): 'Well seeing as QAnon was started by two guys that are friends of mine, wouldn't that make sense?' (
twitter.com), 8 Mar 2019 — a reply to a post saying 'For someone who hates Qanon as much as @JackPosobiec, he sure speaks the same language' (@CanadianElJefe,
x.com). It names no one. A reply under it: 'I didn't know you were friend with both James Brower & @merlindefango.' A critic, Jim Stewartson (7 Dec 2023): 'Posobiec said “QAnon was started by two… friends of mine.” James Brower & “Microchip” were part of Thiel & Flynn’s PAC MAGA3X. They started “Q” for Flynn.' (
x.com) — his assertion, not Posobiec's words. Held open; would settle: Posobiec naming the two.
HIS OTHER WORDS ON Q. One America News, 2018: 'One America's Jack Posobiec spoke with one of the former top members of the group and has this exclusive.' (
youtube.com). 21 Jan 2021: 'I caught a lot of grief from some people for this report in 2018. It is a snapshot of the early 4chan nucleus of what became a larger organic movement.' (
x.com). 7 Jun 2020: 'The President has nothing to do with it because it is an online movement, not an intel operation' (

x.com). A 2021 clip posted by Stewartson: 'That's going to be prong one. I've got the people who came up with it.' [machine transcript, not checked by ear; recording date unknown — held].
THE 2018 'DISCORD LOGS' (blog source, low tier). burners.me: 'Defango’s credibility took another significant blow this week when LARPer James Brower aka JB aka “Two Scoops” confessed that the “Discord Logs” held up in September 2018 by Posobiec, Defango and others as “proof” of the creation of Q were indeed faked.' (
