What they do
SpaceXAI released Grok 4.6 on August 12, 2026. On August 31 the Pentagon launched versions of ChatGPT and Grok for its 3 million staff. A child sexual abuse survivor sued over Grok-made images.
How it works
It is trained on posts from X and built into SpaceX, which now houses Musk's AI company.
Why it matters
It took a place inside the Pentagon after Anthropic was banned. It is also one of the AI programs that, in August 2026, stated a made-up claim about John Dee as fact.
