He worked directly with American eugenicist Davenport (a joint 1929 memo to Mussolini); Rockefeller money reached his institutes in dated, bounded amounts (about $9,000 to Berlin anthropology in 1932, $250,000 in 1926 to a Munich psychiatry institute); his successor Otmar von Verschuer mentored Mengele.
Why it matters
It's a documented money-bridge from US philanthropy to Nazi race science, but the engine is careful: that funding ended in 1939, before the Auschwitz-specimen period, so 'Rockefeller funded the Holocaust' overstates it; the pre-war link stays real, Mengele connects only downstream through his mentor.
