The Bamberg Conference, 1926 - the internal fight that made the party a single instrument

event
Before the party could capture a country it had to stop being two parties arguing with itself. A meeting in 1926 settled that.
Who they are

Hitler against Gregor Strasser, who had built the party's northern wing on a more anti-capitalist line — and Joseph Goebbels, then one of Strasser's men.

What they do

After the 1923 ban was lifted the party was split between Hitler's southern faction and Strasser's northern one. At Bamberg in 1926 Hitler broke the northern wing and set the direction himself. Goebbels switched sides in that realignment and spent the rest of his life as Hitler's propaganda chief.

How it works

Strasser's page on this site has carried that sentence about Goebbels crossing over for a while; this page is where the meeting itself finally gets recorded. What is still missing is listed plainly: the exact date, the minutes, the text of the northern wing's programme, and the party rule that made the leader's word final.

Why it matters

A movement that argues with itself cannot be aimed. This is where it became a single instrument, which is what made everything after 1930 possible.

The engine's record — word for word
[Report #202] **In plain terms:** before the party could take a state it had to stop being two parties. Bamberg is where that was settled. Canon has named this event, without holding it, in two places: the gregor_strasser record carries 'the faction Hitler broke at the Bamberg conference of 1926 (Goebbels, then a Strasser man, crossed to Hitler)', and Scorecard #280 listed Bamberg among the things documented by Report #201's research but not yet minted. This record holds it. WHAT IS CARRIED: that the party, re-established after the post-putsch ban, was split between a nationalist wing and a northern social-revolutionary wing associated with Gregor Strasser; that at Bamberg in 1926 Hitler broke the Strasser faction and settled the party's direction; and that Joseph Goebbels, until then a Strasser man, crossed to Hitler in that realignment - which is canon's own sentence, already wired as the joseph_goebbels -> gregor_strasser edge. HELD OPEN: the exact date, the minutes of the conference, the text of the Strasser wing's programme, and the wording of the party statute that codified the leadership principle. The research pass offered 14 February 1926 but returned no document for the minutes or the programme text, and the SA's size and command sequence across these years were marked NOT EXAMINED. The 1930 Leipzig 'legality oath' - which would be the cleanest single statement of the post-1923 method change - arrived [PRIOR] and is NOT minted anywhere in this ripple. Held; name no holder.
