A research report on Nazi UFO myths was checked line by line against original documents, and it failed on five points. So did this map, on one of them, which is the reason this entry exists. This engine has said since Report 176 that the experiments on six children at Hubertus Strughold's Berlin institute were deadly. The Wall Street Journal's account of the German historian Hans-Walter Schmuhl says the children survived and the experiment was judged a failure. The word is withdrawn. The intent is not softened: the researchers had watched young epileptic rabbits die convulsing and expected the children to do the same. What went in new came only from documents pulled directly, never from the report's own citations: the March 1950 Der Spiegel article that started the flying-disc story, the two men interviewed in it, the 1968 Italian book that carried it forward, and two new entries for the pattern itself. Three legends now have three start dates, all after the war, none of them resting on a German wartime record. Before this pass the engine held nothing at all on Schriever, Belluzzo, Habermohl, Miethe, Georg Klein, Vesco or Lippisch. It held the downstream books in depth and nothing on the root. The wonder-weapons production record, the tunnels and the deaths, is untouched and rests on evidence that has nothing to do with any of these stories.

Report #195 is a verification pass that became a correction to canon. A commissioned research artifact on Nazi-UFO myths and Paperclip was cross-checked claim by claim against primaries retrieved directly. The artifact failed five checkable points. So did this engine, on one of them, and that is the most important line in this row. THE CORRECTION TO CANON: hubertus_strughold has carried since Report #176 the phrase 'his institute's lethal vacuum-chamber experiments on children'. The primary says the opposite. Lagnado, WSJ, 30 Nov 2012 (retrieved from the Space Medicine Association's own posted copy), sourcing Hans-Walter Schmuhl: six children aged 11-13 from Brandenburg-Goerden, mostly epileptic, hypoxia tests in an altitude chamber; verbatim, 'The children survived the research, which didn't end up triggering seizures—so the undertaking was deemed a scientific failure.' 'Lethal' is withdrawn. The intent is not softened: Schmuhl records that the researchers 'expected (and hoped) that the children would react like the rabbits', which had died. Provenance newly carried: Viktor Harsch, head of the history committee of the German Society for Air and Space Medicine, told his colleagues in 2004, which is what ended that society's own Strughold award. THE DATING, which is the substantive finding: the flying-disc legend originates 29 March 1950 in Der Spiegel; the Ho 229 stealth PURPOSE originates in Reimar Horten's own article in the May 1950 Revista Nacional de Aeronautica, Argentina, per the Smithsonian's object record, amplified after the B-2's unveiling on 22 November 1988; Die Glocke originates with Witkowski 2000. Two of the three fall within eight weeks of each other in 1950, in different countries and languages, from unconnected men. None rests on a wartime German record. In every case the material is described as lost, stolen or destroyed — Schriever's single hand model is recorded in the article itself as taken in a Bremerhaven burglary of 4 August 1948, police file closed 'Verfahren eingestellt Täter unbekannt entkommen.'
