The Pentagon's oldest advice board is now on the map, built from its own government renewal notice and the Department's June 2026 announcement: advice only, no contracts, twenty seats at most, and members who keep their outside jobs by law. Of the fifteen people named, this engine already held four. What those members do for a living away from the board was deliberately left out until each piece can be traced to a primary document, and the reasons are written into the record.

Report #194 mints the Defense Policy Board as an instrument and records its 29 June 2026 reconstitution, from two primary documents: the renewal notice at 90 FR 41550 (26 Aug 2025, retrieved as the govinfo PDF) and the Department's release of 29 June 2026 (defense.gov returns 403 to automated clients; retrieved verbatim from the GlobalSecurity reproduction, which carries the defense.gov URL). WHAT THE CHARTER ESTABLISHES: FACA authority under chapter 10 of title 5 U.S.C. and 41 CFR 102-3.50(d); advice to the Secretary and Deputy Secretary on strategic planning, force structure and modernization, regional defense policy; not more than 20 members; one-to-four year terms with annual renewals and a two-consecutive-term cap; non-employee members appointed as special government employees under 5 U.S.C. 3109; service without compensation beyond travel and per diem; and the charter's own standard that members advise 'in a manner that is free from conflict of interest.' WHAT THE RELEASE ESTABLISHES: fifteen seats filled, Lighthizer as Chair, Coleman as Vice Chair, thirteen named members, the board established 1985, and the Department issuing the release under the Department of War naming the engine already carries.
