Engineering the Body for Space (Dsup/MSTN)
The 'Grey' as a held engineered-human candidate
In plain terms: scientists have put a tardigrade 'damage-suppressor' gene into human CELLS to cut radiation damage, and target muscle genes (MSTN) for zero-G — the toolkit a body would need for deep space. Held carefully: this is cells and mice, NOT a built organism, so 'the Grey is an engineered space-human' stays a maybe, not a finding.
[Report #107 — 2026 Space Race] Space-medicine evidence (somatic only): MSTN 'mighty mice', ACVR2B/Fc, YN41, tardigrade Dsup (~40% greater radiotolerance, ~half the DNA damage, in human cells; toxic whole-organism in Drosophila). No human germline. HELD-not-endorsed.
