What sets it apart is method: Elkins held a physics doctorate and a pilot's license and used a disciplined questioning routine, giving it more rigor than most channeling; but its 'Orion group' is described as selfish/hostile aliens, while another channeler (Bashar) describes Orion origins as positive, an outright contradiction using the same star name.
