Mimetic Theory Architecture (Girard)

conceptThe Vatican & Religious Power · Occult & Esoteric
A tech elite borrowed a thinker's whole theory of human violence as a how-to manual — while deliberately cutting out its moral warning.
Who they are

The full theory of René Girard, a thinker who argued that human desire and violence work in predictable, copycat patterns.

What they do

The engine lays out his interlocking ideas and flags how powerful tech figures use them selectively.

How it works

Girard's chain runs: we want things because others want them (copycat desire); rivalry among equals breeds conflict; that conflict builds to a crisis; society resolves it by blaming and destroying a scapegoat; the Christian story exposes and breaks this scapegoat trick; and once exposed, violence has no built-in off-switch and trends toward all-out war. The engine says operators like Thiel, Vance, Yarvin, Andreessen, Hoffman and Altman strip out the moral-revelation part while keeping the machinery as an engineering blueprint.

Why it matters

The 'amputation' — using the mechanics of manipulation while cutting away the part that condemns scapegoating — is exactly the warning signal the engine is watching for.

The engine's record — word for word
Girard's theoretical architecture rests on interlocking propositions: (1) MIMETIC DESIRE — human desire is triangulated, not autonomous; subject desires object only because mediator desires it. (2) INTERNAL vs EXTERNAL MEDIATION — external mediation produces stable hierarchy (medieval/feudal); internal mediation among peers produces rivalry and conflict (modern/democratic). (3) MIMETIC CRISIS / SCANDAL — rivalry escalation produces collective violence threshold; differences collapse into 'doubles' locked in contagious violence. (4) SCAPEGOAT MECHANISM (PHARMAKOS) — arbitrary victim selection resolves crisis; founding murder produces social order; victim subsequently deified as cause+resolver of crisis. (5) CHRISTOLOGICAL REVELATION (post-1959 Catholic-reconvert framework) — Judeo-Christian texts culminate in Passion of Christ told from victim's perspective, exposing arbitrariness of scapegoat mechanism, breaking its efficacy. (6) APOCALYPTIC ESCALATION (post-2007 Battling to the End) — with mechanism unmasked, ritual violence has no circuit-breaker; mimetic rivalry trends toward Clausewitzian 'absolute war.' Engine relevance: operator class (Thiel/Vance/Yarvin/Andreessen/Hoffman/Altman) systematically extracts mechanics of (1)-(2)-(3)-(4) as engineering schematic; AMPUTATES (5) Christological revelation; OPERATIONALIZES (6) apocalyptic register for elite-coordination purposes. The amputation IS the engine signal — Stripped-Christology Problem.
