It survives solely in a passage quoted by the early Church heresy-hunter Epiphanius (in his 'Panarion'), where he claims it described Jesus performing a sexual sacrament; it was likely a real document of the Borborite sect, though Epiphanius's version may be accurate but selectively hostile.

It illustrates how our only knowledge of some suppressed beliefs comes filtered through the enemies who tried to stamp them out.
