What they do
It's a genuine, legitimate tool for viewing the shape of magnetic fields, not a window into any secret 'counter-space.'
How it works
It's a thin layer of iron-oxide nanoparticles in fluid sealed between two lenses; a magnet lines the particles into tiny needle shapes. Peer-reviewed research (Tufaile et al., 2021) shows the glowing patterns come from ordinary light diffraction and reflection off those needles, standard magneto-optics.
Why it matters
The engine notes the physics leaves no room for the 'counter-space' claim, but is careful to flag that the scientists never mention 'counter-space' by name, so treating this as a disproof is the engine's own reasoning, clearly labeled as such.
