In the mid-1990s she co-invented Mondaloy with Monica Jacinto Reza at Rocketdyne, and both filed a 2010 patent. By 2005 she led all materials research for advanced gas-turbine engines, and her AFRL group was the government side of the cost-sharing contracts for the alloy. She retired in 2012 after a cancer diagnosis.
