The pattern that empires do not surrender power — they change the flag: India in 1947 is presented as the beta test, with the exit designed by imperial think tanks, new leaders formatted through the right schools, a border drawn to guarantee permanent conflict, debt replacing colonial taxation, and intelligence liaisons staying embedded for 25 years. Countries that refused this bounded independence were treated as enemies, and the entry predicts the same playbook as the current system declines toward 2040: apparent collapse, new liberation movements, and core extraction preserved under new branding.

The severity of post-independence hostility correlates with a state's refusal to accept bounded independence. The Commonwealth = the empire's software on local hardware.
