Egregore Hypothesis

A collective thoughtform generated by the coordinated beliefs, rituals, and emotional investments of a group takes on autonomous behavior and subtly directs its human creators to ensure its own survival. Originated in French occult tradition (Eliphas Lévi, 19th c.). Modern structural parallels: legal personhood of corporations, nation-state as egregore, religion as egregore, AI model as emergent egregore trained on collective output. The centralized power structure — the overarching architecture of algorithmic governance, financial surveillance, and automated consensus the engine tracks — is best understood as an emergent egregore. Predicts that removing elite individuals does NOT dismantle the system; the egregore selects and formats new human hosts to fulfill its objective function.
