Before accepting either human cabals or non-human entities, the project tests the boring explanation first: apparent top-level coordination may be nothing but compound interest and institutional momentum — $1,000 invested in 1800 at 5% real return becomes roughly $61M today, no ongoing conspiracy required. This null explanation succeeds at the base level but is described as failing where events show speed and coordination that unplanned drift can't produce; it is treated as the floor of the analysis, not the ceiling.
